Acceleration English 10 and 11

Welcome!  This page is for students and parents of  Acceleration English 1o and 11 at Smyrna High School.

I hope you will enjoy this page and feel free to contact me at anytime.  I am pulling students in small groups to work with me to preview and review core English content and skills.  Additionally, I am visible and a part of their regular English class and am assisting them as needed within and in addition to the regular classroom.  All students, should be completing English homework daily.  On days when no official homework is assigned, students need to review their class notes and reread as approriate the current English class text.   Students also needed to daily review  the vacabulary and story webs for the current classroom topic and stories.

Currently, 11th grade English is working on middle ages ballads.  While these can at first seem difficult to understand, rereading and reading aloud can help with understanding.

In 10th grade we are working on Arthur Miller's The Crucible.   Their are many underlying concepts in this play and it can be a funa and entertaining read.

Parents and Students:  I encourage you to talk daily about ALL of your child's classes, review their grades online weekly and contact me at anytime at:
